The PHP Project is powered by CVS. Everything from the php.net website phpweb to the PHP Manual phpdoc to the bugs database php-bugs-web may be found in CVS. CVS is an acronym for Concurrent Version System.

Commands you'll use

• Login: cvs -d :pserver:yourusername@cvs.php.net:/repository login
• Checkout: cvs -d :pserver:yourusername@cvs.php.net:/repository checkout phpdoc
• Update: cvs update -dP
• Diff: cvs diff -u foo.xml
• Make Test: make test
• Commit: cvs commit foo.xml
• Creating patches: cvs diff -u foo.xml > foopatch.txt
• Applying patches: patch < somepatch.txt
