We host/build two CHM versions in paralell. The CHM versions downloadable from php.net and built for multiple languages are built with DSSSL and with the tools in the phpdoc/chm folder. The extended CHM (also downloadable from php.net, but only in English) is built with XSLT and with the tools in the phpdoc/htmlhelp folder. There are README files in both folders for those, who get confused :)

Livedocs is supposed to be the documentation display tool for phpdoc.
Livedocs is planned to be set up on all mirror sites (automatically,
given that sqlite setup will be available on mirrors). Then it will be 
used instead of the pregenerated DSSSL sheets to display manual pages.
Additionaly to this, livedocs is a good tool for phpdoc authors and 
translators to see their changes in HTML form quickly.

Docweb is supposed to be an all-in-one site for all php.net
documentation groups to host documentation tools, which help
documentation authors, editors and translators in their daily work. The 
tools range from revision checks to manual<->php source consistency reports.

TODO

• Work out scheme for handling Zend API? and PHPAPI sections
  (these things mess up quick reference buildings)
  
• Get unix linefeeds in quickref.txt under windows
• Close question if <refnamediv> can be used not only in function reference, but in other contexts also (such as “Core Predefined Constants” and PHPAPI)
• Perhaps move Doc Book? standard to 4.2 and further
